Athabasca University operates with a bi-cameral governance system.
Governing Council members are appointed by the Government of Alberta. The president
of the University is ex-officio a member of the Council. Governing
Council membership consists of the following: one Chairperson, up to ten public
members, two academic staff, two students, one tutor, one non-academic staff
member, and one graduate student.
