Technology Enhanced Knowledge Research Institute (TEKRI)

TEKRI's mission is to promote research and development of technologies that enhance the development, application and transfer of human knowledge, and to promote the growth of a community of researchers at Athabasca University.

Project Management Research Institute

A place of the highest standards of collaboration in academic and applied research, where collegial and virtual environments are created to support academic and practitioner excellence in project management.

Athabasca River Basin Research Institute

The Athabasca River Basin plays a significant role in defining the society, culture, and economy of central and northern Alberta.

KIP and CAF Projects

There are a significant number of Knowledge Infrastructure Program (KIP) and Community Adjustment Fund (CAF) projects at Athabasca University. These initiatives aim to improve AU's IT and other capital infrastructure and break down the barriers to online learning by digitizing course content. Dozens of jobs will be created by the programs, many in parts of rural Alberta that have been hard hit by the current recession.

Academic and Research Centre (ARC)

A new building being built on the main campus in Athabasca, increasing AU's capacity in e-learning research.

AU Press

An open access publisher, AU Press is the university's centre of scholarly publishing expertise.

Learning Communities

This project represents an opportunity for both learners and AU to expand their knowledge of distance education.
